Carl and Ada Zimmerman Research Room

The Carl and Ada Zimmerman Research Room is a non-circulating library consisting of our special and rare collections. We have assembled books on local history, files on pioneers and notable personalities, and other works on paper pertaining particularly to life in Gresham. The Research Room is open for any researcher - professional, academic or amateur - during available hours. Highlights from the collection include:

 

  • A bound collection of the Gresham Outlook dating back to 1927
  • Reference books on Gresham, Portland, East County, and Oregon history
  • General reference books pertaining to architecture, antiques, and world history
  • A collection of National Geographic magazines, 1914-2000

 

The Research Room is open by appointment Tuesday and Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

 

Research will be supervised by staff or volunteers. No materials may be checked out. Materials may only be photocopied or photographed by staff or volunteer. Use of the Research Room is free; however, there is a charge of $1.00/page for photocopies. No food or drink is allowed in the Research Room.
