Join us for an evening lecture with story teller Will Hornyak! Will draws the listener into a shared creative process. Stories and storytelling can help weave individuals together into communities, foster understanding and healing. In an age of nano-seconds and information overload, stories can artfully engage the imaginations as well as the emotions and intellects of a listener. Storyteller Will Hornyak weaves together a wide web of stories and insights into entertaining, informative and highly engaging performance.

Third Thursday Studio: Lecture with percussionist Michael Charles SmithMarch 19, 2015

Join us for an evening lecture with percussionist Michael Charles Smith! Michael (Mike) Smith is a marimba soloist, percussionist, composer, singer-songwriter, and teacher. In addition to his own compositions for solo marimba, Michael covers everything from Bach to Radiohead and Ray Charles to George Gershwin. His latest marimba record, “Melodies for Wooden Children”, has received rave reviews.

Third Thursday Studio: Lecture with the Founders of White Bird April 16, 2015

Join us for an evening lecture wtih Walter Jaffe and Paul King, the founders of the dance studio, White Bird. Their love of dance blossomed when they became subscribers to New York City Ballet, and the next company “we fell in love with was Paul Taylor’s”. Following their move to Portland, they brought the Paul Taylor troupe to the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall, giving birth to their dance presenting company, White Bird, A World of Dance This Studio features two fascinating partners dedicated to excellence in dance.

The Gresham History Museum has received a grant from the city to record yours stories about growing up, living, working, and playing here in Gresham. We are holding informal interviews weekly here at the museum. If you would like to participate, please call the museum to set up a time to come in.

The Center for the Arts Foundation presents: Storytellers from Tad's Talks with Martha Grover.
Come hear local author and artist Martha Grover tell stories with two veteran storytellers. Martha has been hosting this unique event, know affectionately as 'Tad's Talks'. Her stories can be alternately sad, funny, shocking, but always entertaining.
